Tom holds a BSc in Molecular Biology, a Master of Research, and completed his PhD in Molecular Biology. Tom founded Levur in 2023 and has over a decade of experience in metabolic engineering and project leadership. Tom drives R&D, IP strategy, and industry partnerships.

COO
Fiona has 25+ years' experience launching products in cosmetics and consumer goods sectors. She has led commercialisation projects from concept to market and brings deep expertise in operations, partnerships, and regulatory navigation. Fiona is passionate about climate impact.
Dr Sashika Yalage Don
Senior Synthetic Biologist
Sashika holds a PhD in Plant Pathology and has prior experience at Nourish Ingredients. Sashika specialises in lipidomics and yeast engineering and leads strain development and lipid analysis.
Mark Somerville
Senior Synthetic Biologist
Mark is an experienced microbial engineer with expertise in strain construction, analytical chemistry, and bioprocess optimisation. Mark supports precision fermentation scale-up.
Dr Sana Siddiqui
Senior Synthetic Biologist
Sana completed her PhD at Macquarie University. Sana has extensive experience in microbial strain engineering, lipid separation and bioactive purification. Sana is responsible for strain screening, analytical chemistry and scale-up testing at Levur.
Dr Joseph Raphael
Bioprocessing Engineer
Joseph completed his PhD at University of Queensland. He is an experienced synthetic biologist with expertise in bioprocess optimisation. Joseph supports precision fermentation scale-up at Levur.
Dr Patrick da Roza
Senior Synthetic Biologist
Patrick completed his PhD in algal genomics at Macquarie University and has a background spanning microbiology, genomics and biotechnology. Patrick leads strain engineering and optimisation.
Hanna Forster
Research Assistant
Hanna has completed her Bachelor of Science (Biotechnological Processes) at University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Hanna is supporting the team with research, experiments and cosmetic formulation.
